Who We Are
Reflections Integrative Therapy is owned and operated by Alicia Banister, RMT BCST. Located in Boulder, Colorado on the west end of town, Reflections is proud to offer a variety of body-centered therapeutic resources to the Boulder community, including: CranioSacral Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Zen Shiatsu, guided meditation, and Shamanic Healing.
In our daily lives it is easy to not hear the messages our bodies are sending to us. A focus of sessions here involves slowing down enough to begin learning to listen to ourselves, accessing the inherent healing knowledge of our bodies and learning to establish a regulated nervous system. With this as the baseline, we can move forward with curiosity to see what can unfold and change and grow within us, with support, presence and mindfulness.
Ultimately it is about you. Through our sessions, the underlying focus becomes about empowering you to be an active participant in your health and well-being by helping you to connect to your body to discover your own capacity and the healing intelligence in your body. Whether it be working with trauma (both physical and emotional) or addressing chronic pain, everyone contains the capacity to heal, sometimes it just takes finding the proper conditions and a willingness to walk down that path. At Reflections Integrative Therapy, the focus is on tailoring those proper conditions to meet your specific needs (which are often constantly changing) and to support you as you embark on your healing journey.
Integrative therapy rests in a space of fluids, feeling the tides within us all, that oceanic expression of inherent health. The beauty in this is that it honors the fluidity of existence, the impermanence and ever-changing nature of what it is to be an evolving human being. There is fluidity in everything, because we, by our very nature, are fluid. It is only in our minds that we fix things in place.
Gil Hedly said it perfectly: “If the shoe fits, and you’re evolving, it won’t next week.”
When we learn to access this fluidity, to embrace it, rest into it, be curious about it, and appreciate it, we are accessing the intelligence in our systems, the part of ourselves that wants to always be moving toward a greater and freer expression of the essence of who we are. And that is healing.
